Math IV is a two-semester precalculus high school course. Materials will be accessed through Google Classroom.

- Equations of Lines: Write an equation of a line, including parallel, perpendicular, horizontal and vertical lines
- Functions: Identify when a relation is a function and/or 1:1, evaluate functions, and find intercepts of graphs of functions
- Domain & Range: Given a function, write domain and range in both set notation and interval notation
- Combinations of Functions: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide functions (includes evaluating for a specific x-value as well)
- Composition of Functions: Do composition of functions given points and/or functions - includes evaluating for a specific x-value
- Inverse Functions: Given a function, determine whether there is an inverse function, and find the inverse if there is one
- Quadratic Equations: Given a quadratic equation, be able to find the vertex and x-intercepts
- End Behavior: Evaluate and determine end behavior of polynomial functions
- Complex Numbers: Add, subtract, and multiply complex numbers
- Quadratics with Complex Solutions: Find all real and/or complex solutions of a given quadratic equation
- Rational Equations: Do operations with expressions to solve rational equations
- Systems of Equations - Substitution or Elimination: Solve systems of equations using the substitution or elimination methods
- Systems of Inequalities - Word Problems: Solve systems of inequalities word problems
- Compound Figures: Find Area and Perimeter of compound figures
- Radians & Degrees: Convert from radians/degrees to degrees/radians and use to find arc length
- Unit Circle: Know and use the first quadrant of the unit circle
- Definitions I of Trigonometric Functions: Know the 6 definitions of trig functions and how to find their values given either a point on the terminal side or an angle measure. This includes knowing what functions are positive and negative in all quadrants.
- Sine & Cosine Graphs: Find the period and amplitude of a given function and describe the transformations from the original function
- Solving Right Triangles #1: Solve right triangles in word problem form
- Solving Right Triangles #2: Solve right triangles involving double triangles and navigation problems
- Identities: Simplify trigonometric expressions or write trigonometric expressions in terms of other trigonometric functions
- Proving Identities: Use reciprocal, ratio, and Pythagorean identities, along with algebraic techniques (such as factoring, working with fractions, multiplying/distributing, etc) to show that two expressions are equivalent
- Solving Trigonometric Equations: Solve for the unknown variables in a trigonometric equation (linear and/or quadratic)
- Sum & Difference Formulas: Know and use the sum and difference formulas to find exact values of trig functions, to rewrite trig expressions, or to prove identities.
- Law of Sines & Law of Cosines: Solve for unknown measures using the Law of Sines and/or the Law of Cosines
- Exponential functions: Rewrite an exponential function in power/log form to log/power form
- Solve exponential functions: Use logarithm properties and the inverse relationship between powers and logarithms to solve exponential functions
- Exponential Models: Use exponential growth and decay functions to model and solve real-life problems
- Identify/Write Sequence: Identify and write an arithmetic and/or geometric sequence as an explicit expression or a recursive process
- Arithmetic Sequences: Use arithmetic sequences and partial sums to model situations and solve problems
- Geometric Sequences: Use geometric sequences and sums to model situations and solve problems
- Probability: Determine the probability of outcomes in common events (drawing cards out of a deck, flipping coins, rolling dice, etc.)
- Permutations/Combinations: Use permutations and combinations to answer questions about real-world scenarios
- Probability with Permutations/Combinations: Use permutations and combinations to compute probabilities of compound events
- Add/Subtract Matrices: Identify whether given matrices can be added/subtracted, and complete the operation (if possible)
- Multiply Matrices: Identify whether given matrices can be multiplied, and complete the operation (if possibe)
- Data Analysis: Collect, organize, and model data for a real-world situation using technology tools (spreadsheet, graphing utility, etc.)
- Limits: Explore the connections between asymptotes, infinity, and various functions (if time)
